Quality
child care includes many elements that all combine together to
maximize children's development of cognitive, social, emotional
and physical skills. Child care providers have the
responsibility of creating the environment that is safe and
healthy and one that provides opportunities for the children to
learn through play. Interactions between providers and children
should be positive and on the child's level, while extending the
child's experiences. Child care providers should also be
sensitive to each individual family and should strive to provide
a program that meets each family's individual needs, while
meeting each child's individual and developmental needs. In order to
provide a quality child care program, child care professionals
must have ample training and education to acquire knowledge of
child development. Training and education should be an
ongoing process.
